Google Ads Management Fees and Ad Spend Explained
What a Google Ads management fee covers, how it differs from ad spend, and how to compare published fees without mixing billing units.

A quote for Google Ads management involves two different amounts of money, and mixing them up is the most common source of confusion when comparing offers. This guide separates them and shows how the published fees in this directory are presented.
Two numbers, not one
The management fee is what the provider charges for setting up and running campaigns. The ad spend is the budget paid to Google for clicks. A provider can quote one without the other.
Two examples from the records in this directory:
- The AptLocal pricing page lists Google Ads at a starting figure per month plus ad spend, and says ad spend goes to Google from the client account so the budget stays visible and separate from the fee.
- Searchbloom states a starting monthly fee for Google Ads management and says the fee rises mainly with ad spend. Its source does not say whether the ad budget is included in that figure, so the profile marks ad spend treatment as not stated.
When a source does not say, treat it as unknown and ask.
Fee structures you may be offered
A buyer may be offered a flat monthly fee, a share of ad spend, an hourly rate, a one time setup or project fee, or a mix. The published fees in this directory are flat monthly starting figures. Whatever the structure, keep the original billing unit when you compare. A monthly fee and a project fee answer different questions.
Starting fees are not quotes
Both providers above describe their figures as depending on scope. A starting figure tells you where the range begins, not what your account will cost. Ask for the written scope, and ask what moves the number up, such as ad spend, the number of locations, or the number of services.
What else to confirm
- Account ownership. Does the campaign run in an account you own, and can you export the history if you leave?
- Lead definition. Are calls and form submissions counted as leads, and are spam or out of area calls filtered out before results are reported?
- Minimum term. How long is the commitment and how does it end? Keep the exact wording, because a phrase like no lengthy contracts is not a term length.
- Setup work. Is there a set-up month or a separate set-up fee, and what does it cover?
- Reporting. How often will you see numbers, and do they include spend and leads together?
Published fees from the directory follow below, generated from the same records as each profile.
Published Google Ads management fees in this directory
| Provider | Fee | Ad spend | Minimum term | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AptLocal | Starting at $1,000 per month | Ad spend paid separately | 3 months minimum, then rolling monthly | aptlocal.com/pricing |
| Searchbloom | Starting at $2,000 per month (currency not stated) | Ad spend treatment not stated | Minimum term not stated | www.searchbloom.com |
2 providers have published a Google Ads fee in their checked sources. Providers that list Google Ads without a published fee are not shown, and that says nothing about what they charge.
